The 280 claim for the 5-speed 96TT has never appeared in any publication, EVER. Except for the June 2003 issue of Sport Compact Car, in which the author of the article clearly acknowledges that it is just an "enthusiast" rumor. Yes, the claim is posted on this web site. But NO ONE who has ever made the claim ever actually dynoed a new, stock, 5-speed 96TT engine; NO ONE. No, not even JWT which, as a result, will not sell a 96 ECU with any hard performance gain claims (i.e. their 90-95 TT stage 3 is a "96hp increase over stock;" for 96, it's "something less than that"). The claim on this web site is the result of bench speculation: "Well, this part got swapped for that one, this other one for that one, and the ECU was recalibrated, so it must only put out xyz power." It even states that Nissan engineers made the modifications to maintain horsepower...to NO EFFECT; their mods were worthless! (yet JWT can make a simple ECU change and give you "something less than a 96hp increase") Nissan engineers must be imbeciles. Don't believe crap just because it's on the internet. I can show you a lot of sites that say 9/11, JFK's assassination, and the holocaust never happened. You hold the SOURCE DOCUMENT on 96 Z specifications in your hand....
